Find a contractor near a place

Pick a trade and name a place. The finder searches the board records published here — California, Washington, Florida — and lists the records whose locality of record falls within the distance you choose. Distances are measured between place centers, so read them as approximate; these records carry no street addresses.

What the finder covers

Twelve trade words — plumber, electrician, roofer, heating & air, general contractor, builder, painter, landscaper, concrete, flooring, remodeler, handyman — each tied to the credential classes the boards themselves publish, state by state. A word is offered for a state only where that state’s records carry the trade as its own credential; where no honest match exists, the finder says so rather than guessing.

Place locations and ZIP centers are the U.S. Census Bureau’s published place and ZIP Code Tabulation Area points; a distance here is the distance between two place centers, never to a street address.
